The final product quality of reclaimedwater is dependent on many factors including the original drinking water qualityand the associated watershed. Reclaimed water quality can be correlated withdrinking water quality in many cases to provide insight into the sources of bulkorganic carbon, ions and synthetic organic compounds and other constituents inreclaimed water. This paper presents an overview of how watershed analysis can beused to help predict reclaimed water quality and aid decision-makers in thechoice of treatment processes. Examples are presented for dissolved organiccarbon, halogenated organic carbon, classes of synthetic organic compounds andother constituents. Includes 17 references, figures.
