Due to the difficulty of inactivating Cryptosporidium oocysts with mostdisinfectants, filtration is a crucial barrier that must be optimized to ensure safe drinking water. Biofiltration is a modification of conventional high-rate filtration that may have enhanced capabilities for oocyst removal. This study investigated the efficiency of biofiltersin oocyst removal as compared with conventional filtration. Includes 13 references, tables.
