N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) is a semi-volatile organic chemicalthat is soluble in water. This paper reviews the health effects of NDMA and the regulatory requirementsof NDMA control. The paper discusses NDMA as both a water and wastewater contaminant. The results of a study undertaken to determine whether NDMA is a disinfection byproduct and how it forms with ion exchange resins are presented. Includes 16 references, tables, figures.
