Smart meters represent the first phase in the evolution to a smart grid that uses digital technology to improve electric delivery system reliability, flexibility, and efficiency. As the deployment of smart meters grows, energy service providers will have access to advanced measurement and verification (MV) methods over a much larger population of buildings.
