Full Description

The first ice rink system using carbon dioxide (CO₂) as secondary refrigerant was built in 1999. But, an ice rink using a transcritical CO₂ system wasnt installed until 2010. This historical article discusses the rationale for using CO₂ in ice rinks and the most important steps of the technology's evolution.
