Demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) is used to reduce system outdoor airflow (OA) and save energy when a space is occupied at less than its design occupancy. This article discusses three CO2-based DCV control strategies that are ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2013 compliant in multiple-zone HVAC systems. And, it discusses potential issues or possible mistakes when applying DCV control strategies, and their energy- saving potentials.
