What cost benefits exist for using liquid-cooled information technology equipment (ITE)? A total cost of ownership (TCO) methodology in this article assesses 100% air-cooled IT equipment in a best-of-class data center versus two alternate designs with separate air- and liquid-cooling loops. The study did not show significant TCO differences between air and hybrid air-liquid cooling implementations.
