Taking an old building that is 155 years old and making it not just energy efficient, but super efficient is a unique challenge. In the following case study, the design team was faced with the challenge to renovate a structure, use the best possible technology on a limited budget, and make this historic building efficent to operate and useful for another 150 years. The end result is a buiding that operates for less than $0.75/sf annually, obtained a LEED Gold Certification, and had a totalrenovation cost of $4.5 million.
