Full Description

A multi-mode solar assisted heat pump(SAHP) system was proposed to adapt various weather conditions in the space heating season. A real SAHP system for a 4000 m² area was built in Daqing, China. The operating performance of the novel system was field measured and reported in this study. Results showed the operating cost for space heating using the novel system(18 RMB/m², Chinese Yuan)was far less than the cost using a gas-boiler heating system(40 RMB/m2). Therefore, the novel SAHP system deserves further research due to its significant potential in cost- and energy-saving.
