Direct-firedheating technology is a safe, energy-efficient, and cost-effective means toprovide heating for a wide range of applications. The two main uses; makeup airand space heating-have different applications and require different approachesto deliver the most efficient design. This article summarizes the basicoperating principles, safety, energy performance, psychrometric behavior, andrecommendations for the use of direct-fired heating units.
