This study on the impact of training on maintenance and operating costs in Schools, Hospitals and Offices was undertaken in three phases:

a search for organizations having training programs for their staff, and a willingness to participate in the study;

a mail survey to seek the opinion of building owners and managers on the importance of training and the impact on costs, and to collect sufficient data to allow an analysis to be developed showing training impacts on operations and maintenance;

a series of site visits to obtain more detailed data for analysis to define the relationship between training, and operations and maintenance costs.
