A literature survey to identify the available viscosity data for the mixtures containing HFC refrigerant was conducted. The most accurate data on which to base the viscosity model development was evaluated. Various viscosity models were considered, the results were compared with the most reliable experimental data, and a comprehensive mixture model was created. For the gas phase, the viscosity model is based on the residual concept and a modified corresponding states method. The viscosity was composed of two contributions: a dilute gas term, which is a function only of temperature, and a residual term, which is a function only of density. The viscosity of liquid mixtures is modeled with the modified rough hard-sphere method. The resulting correlations are given in a form convenient to the practicing engineer.
