Scraped surface heat exchangers (SSHE) are used in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries to heat, cool, cook, slush freeze, emulsify, pasteurize, textmize, sterilize, crystallize, whip and concentrate many types of products. + SSHEs consist of a product tube or a product area, and a cylinder that contains the cooling media that may be a secondary refrigerant, a refrigerant such as ammonia, or a halocarbon.
