Full Description

The metastable flow phenomenon of R12 through two capillary tubes was experimentally investigated. A method utilising the classic nucleation theory to predict the heterogeneous nucleation of refrigerant flowing through capillary tubes was developed. A correlation for the determination of the pressure difference between the thermodynamic saturated point and the point of the inception of vaporisation was established.

KEYWORDS: fluid flow, refrigerants, R12, capillary tubes, experiment, calculating, thermodynamics, pressure difference, vaporising.
