Full Description
States that engineers need to shift from simply optimising designs on the assumption of a certain future, to a different mode of planning, assuming uncertainty. Demonstrates one way to address the impacts of uncertainty in a simple life-cycle cost analysis framework. Goes on to characterise design strategies that may be appropriate for accommodating uncertainty about the future availability of R22 and R134a.
