The first in a threepart series, covers air distribution for wellmixed systems, the most common application in commercial and institutional buildings in the U.S. Four basic performance mandates are discussed: acceptable indoor air temperature, air movement, humidity and quality; as defined (mostly) by ASHRAE Standard 62.1 and ASHRAE Standard 55.
