Roy Otterbein, P.E., was an expert witness in the murder trial that became known as The Prom Night Murders, in the book by Carlton Smith. A crucial part of the defense was the drying time of a washcloth found wet at the murder scene. Otterbein helped ascertain the drying time of the washcloths and when the crimes occurred.
