Full Description

Presents an analysis and methodology for rating the performance of mixed, single-speed, split, residential heat pumps operating in the heating mode. States the method allows for calculation of the capacity at the DOE 8.3degC (47degF) rating point and the heating seasonal performance factor for the minimum design heating requirement in Region 4 without performing laboratory testing of a complete system. The analysis includes evaluation of the impact of the indoor coil, expansion device and fan on system performance. Also discusses verification and applicability limits of the procedure.
