Building materials have a strong impact on indoor air quality. This article discusses the designers need to understand the effects of building material emissions on occupant health and their activities. Emissions testing results and associated labels and certifications can be useful but may not be sufficient to ensure good indoor air quality over a buildingâs lifetime.
