Examines the proposed revisions to ASHRAE Standard 62R Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, and how they may have a major effect on the HVAC industry. States the proposed revisions expand the details for providing acceptable ventilation and for the first time mandate roles and requirements for various segments of the air conditioning industry. Explains how the key players may be affected. Presents a summary of the revised standard. Concludes that the new standard sets the stage for even further reductions in outdoor air as experience is gained in reducing building-related contaminants, improved air cleaning and better sensors for dynamic control of volatile organic components and particulates.
