Full Description

Criticises the assumptions behind taking carbon dioxide measurements to estimate outdoor air ventilation rates and assess indoor air quality (IAQ) in buildings. Gives reasons why the normal procedure may not provide an adequate indicator of IAQ and will usually overestimate the true ventilation rate, often by as much as 100% to 200%. Proposes for field testing measurement guidance that applies correction factors in a 10-step process. The correction factors are based on steady-state model calculations and published data.
